In addition of attempting to listening to Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all-time, I will also try to work my way through the publication’s latest list of greatest songs of all-time. Why Rolling Stone, you might ask? Well, it seems like they’re still somewhat of an authority on music despite being off the mark more often than not. Am I any better? Not at all, but it’s a fun exercise to channel my inner High Fidelity tendencies to list anything and everything.
I placed all 500 songs into a playlist and sorted alphabetically, so I don’t know in what order Rolling Stone actually ranked these tracks. Every week (hopefully) I’ll listen to ten songs at random and list them in the order that I think is correct. Since I don’t remember all the songs on this list, I’ll be in for a surprise to hear what made the cut. Fingers crossed that “Shake Ya Tailfeather”, by Diddy, Nelly, and Murphy Lee makes it on this list alongside a banger or two by John Phillips Sousa.
